Some 12 months ago across our farm stay accommodation we installed Fire Angel integrated smoke and heat alarms together with co2 monitors to our biomass plant room. So impressed with the system and its mobile alerts and system testing, we added it to the 2 barns giving whole site protection.
It’s lambing time on the farm, and we have CCTV on the lambing shed, this allows us to monitor activity through the night, getting up where needed to assist with lamb delivery.
We picked up on one ewe lay not moving with her neck stretched back, as we had been up lambing through the night for the past 2 nights, it’s understandable not to get dressed to walk down to the shed unnecessarily. So when presented with the following:
Thinking quickly I went to the Fire Angel App logged in to the new bard and initiated a sound test on the New Barn Smoke alarm Circuit. I then went back onto the CCTV system all ewes got up on hearing the alarm and no further intervention was required.
