Yesterday our 10kw Battery, inverter and Sunny Boy Home Manager were commissioned, we installed the home manager back in November 2019 but the savings were not achievable due to the cost of the batteries, however with the energy crisis, and volatile market, this situation caused us to look again.
We have an 8.16kw solar array which generated 6846kw last year of which we were only able to use 3367kw (49%) ourselves therefore exporting 3479kw back to the grid, they put a value on this of 0.0599p per kw = £208 however they charge us 0.3497p for every kw purchased giving an actual value of £1216.60 to us so just at today’s rates this will equate to a possible payback in just 10 years, or less if we scale up the battery capability.

The inverter is app managed, making it accessible from anywhere, the 10w will provide us with emergency power in the event of a power cut and will supplement our evening power requirements.
