Oaks Barn Farm Safeguarding our Guests During Coronavirus Covid-19

Oaks Barn Farm

In these times of uncertainty, we wanted to take this opportunity to communicate the measures we are undertaking to minimise the risk to our guests and Staff Team.

Despite the worldwide circumstances, different from many accommodation providers, Oaks Barn Farm benefits from wide-open spaces and has no adjacent footpaths or road traffic so make the most of your fresh air destination with our rural farm stay retreat.

Enhanced Measures Pre Arrival

As always, we would like your stay with us to be enjoyable, we have added additional precautions using a medical-grade antibacterial cleaner to all surfaces with specific attention to all door, cupboard and draw handles, light switches and TELEVISION remote controls in preparation for your arrival.

All bedding and towels are washed to 60 degrees and are processed on-site minimising external cross-contamination sources.

The most likely form of infection is through human to human contact, for this reason, we will avoid entering your property during your stay, and on arrival, we will respect your personal space of 2 metres.

We have revised our meet and greet procedure; to include social distancing so rather than staff showing you around the accommodation after it has been deep cleaned we will show you to your accommodation only. Our Air Rifle and Pizza experience events have been suspended until circumstances permit them to resume.

Food Orders

Many of our guests choose to order online for food deliveries, please be aware that delivery slots are hard to secure at this time so booking well in advance or opting for a click and collect service may be preferable. Please feel free to contact us in advance of your stay for the latest up to date information. Local providers are working hard to provide alternative options to the normal supply chain at this time.

During your stay how you can Help Us

Wash Hands upon arrival

It is not possible to sanitise all external infrastructure around the farm, we always recommend washing of hands after being near livestock please make this part of your routine when returning to the property.

Wash your hands frequently

Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water for 20 seconds.

Why? Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands.

Follow Five Steps to Wash Your Hands the Right Way

  1. Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm), turn off the tap, and apply soap.
  2. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. …
  3. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. …
  4. Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.

We have provided AntiBacterial hand wash to all properties.

Maintain social distancing

Maintain at least 2 metres distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.

Why? When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain the virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease.

Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth

Why? Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick.

Practice respiratory hygiene

Make sure you, and the people around you, follow good respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then bin the used tissue immediately.

Why? Droplets spread virus. By following good respiratory hygiene you protect the people around you from viruses such as cold, flu and COVID-19.

If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early

Stay home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention and call in advance. Follow the directions of your local health authority.

Why? National and local authorities will have the most up to date information on the situation in your area. Calling in advance will allow your health care provider to quickly direct you to the right health facility. This will also protect you and help prevent spread of viruses and other infections.

In Each of our Self Catering Properties As within your own home

• routine cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched objects and surfaces such as telephones, keyboards, door handles, desks and tables

• basic handwashing is highlighted as the most effective way of preventing the spread of infection.

• crockery and cutlery in shared kitchen areas should be cleaned with warm water and detergent and dried thoroughly

• ensuring food such as crisps and sandwiches should not be left open for communal sharing unless individually wrapped

Our Salt Water Hot Tubs

These are checked routinely each day through your stay, the salt sanitises the water completely and is more efficient than chlorine-based systems when operating in the higher temperature range.  We ask that you shower before entering the hot tub.
