Last week our Samsung American Fridge freezer broke just 6 years old and just beyond it’s 5 year warrantee. As there were faults on the motherboard and potentially a leak which could not be repaired plus the motor sounded odd reluctantly we purchased a new one.
The internals of the fridge were all in good order with toughened glass shelves so whilst appliances on line removed the carcass, yesterday we converted the shelves into a cold frame using some old fencing rails and a bit of hard work.
Unfortunately many of the glass panes were odd in size which meant rebating was a bit of a challenge. Each of the clear plastic draws lend themselves to miniature propagators and the removable door shelves will be re used in the Barn for meds’ and equipment storage for Lambing.
So our old American Fridge Freezer has a new life beyond its years growing veg and assisting with Lambing.
