Should I Microwave My Christmas Turkey?

Some years ago I posted an appeal for the best setting to microwave my Christmas Turkey, twitter reacted accordingly and the advice from the much respected Jason Adams formerly of The Arden Hotel Stratford upon Avon, and now GM to The Lygon Arms was, this would at best be a bad idea.
The fundamental issues remain that a Turkey in most parts is simply too big to fit,and many of the joys of cooking all of the accompaniments alongside the big bird simply disappear.
I did however ask google with the following response: Place the bagged turkey onto a microwave safe plate. Place your turkey into the microwave, making sure that it does not touch the top or sides. Cook it on 50 percent power for about 10 minutes per each pound. We used a 12-pound turkey, and it took about two hours to cook.
It might be worth asking #Alexa let me know her response, however this year again we will be sticking to the tried and tested method of cooking our Christmas Feast in The tried and tested Rayburn.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas from all of us at Oaks Barn Farm.
