New Automation Tool Gets the Thumbs Up On The Farm 4085 followers and Growing with automated multi platform sharing of rich farming content.

Living and working on the farm, it is rare that we get the chance to buy a news paper, let alone the time to read one, for this reason we use social media as a way of staying up to date as well as using it to support much of the marketing we do for our farm stay. Although the numbers count it is very much about the quality of followers and the interaction we share. One such contact is Stephen Roberts of Rural Broadband, we met some three years ago through Twitter, and only met for the first time I face to face at The Game Fair in Hatfield.
We share Stephens content with our followers and he does the same for us amongst his.
Being out on the farm however can prevent you from interacting as much as we would like until we discovered http://IFTTT.com
This great little app allows you to automate tasks like thanking new followers for following your account and syncing your pinterest boards with Instagram posts.
The key features of this app allows rich content to appear as a photo or video as if posted directly within the app, so does not leave a cluttered Twitter time line of facebook back links with no graphics. You can also do the same in reverse when uploading pictures on facebook pages the app works hard in the background updating your feeds saving you both time and effort in repetitive activity between social media platforms.
I generally don’t like automated responses but with this app I am definitely converted, the app is free and being a farmer this also works in its favour.
We love WordPress and IFTTT posts any articles directly to Pinterest which can be a real headache to do manually.
You can ask IFTTT to notify you of the weather forecast each morning or you can look out of the window, there are many other links including getting notifications with your interaction with Alexa, people are uploading applets all the time to the site so there is a constant source of inspiration.
Email notifications can also be set up, but we have far too much traffic coming through our email to contemplate this.

Get Smarter with your audience Using Crowdfire the free version of the app allows you to identify who is no longer following you on twitter, allowing you to make the most of the limited amount of people you are allowed to follow.
Using both of these applications has in recent months significantly grown our Farm Stay Business sites
