Sainsburys Shuns British Farmers

Leading Supermarket Sainsburys offer Nectar points to customers for buying lamb imported from Newzeland.

But what better than to buy british Lamb with a low Carbon footprint whilst at the same time helping to keep Britain Farming rather than selling out to short term cheap imports with the long term loss of England’s green and pleasant land.

What can you do? Source local farmed meat, either directly buying a whole or half lamb, or via your local butcher, the good ones can tell you the local farm from which it was sourced. Don’t be afraid to try mutton this can have a superior taste and provides better value.

Whilst supermarkets provide lamb which is factory processed without being hung, look for meat which is not bright Red in colour but has a drier and more solid feel to it (darker meat better taste).
