How To Get More From Your UK Family Holiday

Now in our 16th year of providing a Quality Farm Stay Experience from our Worcestershire based Family Farm, in recent years we have focussed on generating direct bookings many of which come from repeat business via returning guests. Third-party booking agents like Air BNB and Trip Advisor are excellent at reaching a wider audience, however, their commission impacts significantly on the host so book direct wherever you can.

Investment During Lockdown

During lockdown we spent a significant amount of time developing our site offering, we looked at ways of increasing our Social Media reach.

We recognise that while UK Holidays are not cheap what we could offer is value in terms of our Facilities and Guest Experience. After the lifting of lockdown, all of our efforts were rewarded by the highest footfall we had ever experienced at Oaks Barn Farm

Green Technologies

Investment in Green technologies including solar, Biomass Heating, and on-site laundry to reduce our carbon footprint. Significantly with recent energy prices, this will enable us to survive as a business, we do monitor all of our costs on the farm, whether this is animal feed v livestock sales or calculating inputs for each of our properties, we do this to ensure a profit whilst at the same time making sure we hit the right price point, in a highly competitive market.

Future Investment

We have been fortunate to receive Here 2 Help funding from Worcestershire County Council, and to take advantage of the government bounceback loan, to this end we have built a new barn, constructed our outdoor dining area and are now developing an outdoor lounge for summer 2022. In addition, we are installing a battery storage facility to provide us with off-grid power predictive charging via economy 7 and reduce our costs going forward.
