While our international market has diminished for the short term, the UK Staycation Market is thriving.
We took the decision to add a hot tub option to each of our properties, thinking it would be a boost to gaining extra guests during our quieter times, then on the 23rd of March the inevitable Lockdown was announced for the UK, So we got to spend the whole of Lockdown with a choice of 3 Salt Water Hot Tubs to choose from.
Our Hot Tubs are sanitised through both Salt and Bromine which are the most effective when running at the higher temperatures that a hot tub commands.
Managing Cancellations
Month on month went by, with cancellations becoming part of our core business activity, thankfully we were able to move, refund and work with our guests to manage their plans being put on hold. We achieved this with 100% of our guests.
Opening The Farm Gate
On the 4th July, we reopened our Farm with social distancing measures, enhanced cleaning and guest sanitising stations. Enquiries grew exponentially, and even with Lockdown losses 2020, is on track to be our busiest year to date.
Our Months of Sunshine, early finishes and daily sunbed time were to come to an end only to be replaced by laundry time, changeovers, PPE, washing hands, and my daily routines as pool boy, servicing each of our three hot tubs for guests escaping from their imposed lockdown.
COVID-19 Confident & Good To Go
Our risk assessments safe working procedures, and staff team training enabled our farm to achieve Visit England’s Good to Go, and AA COVID-19 Confident status.
We were not sure how guests would respond to our new measures to keep fellow guests, themselves and our staff team safe, but significantly the measures have been well received with guests liking the fact that each of our properties is self-contained, allowing for social distancing.
Guests have commented on how they have felt safe during their stay and have thanked us for the measures we have taken to safeguard them during their stay.
