Farm Stay Offers Guests Green Energy for their tank.

Oaks Barn Farm have been granted approval for a Workplace charging point, to allow both staff and guests to charge their cars from the sun.

Our first guests to use our charge point traveled from Germany to plug into our sun.

#ElectricVehicles are expected to account for between 10% and 50% of total sales in the passenger car market by 2030, so we need to continue to be on top of our game in meeting the needs of our guests.

Sue Smith today said “We are delighted to offer our guests with electric cars the chance to charge their cars without costing the earth”. Our hopes for the future, are to enable guests with the same green values at heart to access our beautiful Warwickshire Countryside and all the our local Stratford Upon Avon has to offer.

Working with Stratford Energy Solutions, the project has allowed us to link with our on site solar energy to deliver green energy, to the centrally accessible car charge point. A clever eco mode senses when surplus power is available and trickle charges when the farm is producing more energy than it is using.

The Eco car charge Point is the latest addition to the Farms comprehensive green credentials, the farm has been producing its own electricity since November 2012 and generates heat for both the farm and their guests from sustainable fuel via their Biomass Boiler installed in January 2015.
