Oaks Barn Farm are pleased to announce that we are a Nominee for The Tourism Awards 2021/22
The competition culminates in an awards ceremony on Friday 11th March 2022 and up to one winner from each category will go on to represent Worcestershire at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence in June 2022.
Its been a tough couple of years to be in hospitality, but our entry has focussed on our Growth as a Small Business despite the disruption of Covid-19. Oaks Barn Farm have made significant changes through the whole of its service delivery embracing Industry Standards for the safeguarding of its Staff and Customer Base.
Shaping our Business
The changes have included:
- Remote contactless checkin
- Flexibility on arrival dates
- Continuous risk assessment of cleaning practices
- Achievement of AA Covid Confident Status
- Achieving Visit England’s Good To Go
- Achievement of World Travel & Tourism Council Safe Travels
- Maintaining Trip Advisor 5 bubble reviews accross all of its accommodation provision
- Achieveing Air BnB Superhost Status
- Developing all site accessibility
- Provision of Rule of 6 accommodation compliance
- Developing Socially Distanced Outside Dining area for up to 20 guests
- Delivery of Pizza Experience Nights
Investment In Green Technologies
Our entry includes the significant investment in Green Technologies deployed through the whole farm provision:
- Solar Power Generation
- 75KW Biomass District Heating System
- Managing Laundry on site with self designed drying room to reduce risk of covid through external handling processes
- Installation of Electric Vehicle Charge Point using Smart Technologies charging where there is surplus Solar Energy not used on site.
- Deployment of a whole site Water Management Plan
- Waste Management plan for on site recycling and reduction of waste volume
Responsive To Change
The Judges will also consider our innovative response during the pandemic. Doing so enabled us to deliver a range of much needed key services including:
- The provision of Key Worker Accommodation
- Providing Self Isolation Accommodation
- Working with Foster Care agencies Building Families During the pandemic
- Provision of emergency accommodation for families affected by flooding during the pandemic
- Provisionof temporary accommodation for those relocating during COVID.
